According to the article the leather chair would have been in one of the 4 barrack blocks at Martlesham. The buildings are in use by various businesses and are listed buildings. They are situated by the A12, in front of the BT research establishment. Attached photos of same, plus the memorials in Barrack square. 1943 saw the 356th USAF Fighter group with P51 Mustangs stationed there. Took a couple of the Control tower which is situated on the Housing estate the other side of the A12.
