    DefaultThe Battle for Habbaniya

Andy and i were just talking about this so I thought I'd post the links:

The Royal Air Force - History (Campaign Histories) - Habbaniya 1941
    1941 Habbanyia

And the wargraves have been cleaned up after they were desecrated by Saddam:

While I had been aware of the action I hadn't realised just how up against it the RAF were in terms of equipment. I was thinking a handful of clapped-out Hurris and Blenheims but Hinds and Oxfords? Wow. Time to learn more me thinks.

A very good site about the airfield. Amazing what irrigation can do!

Great site Andy from which I have a few photos.

We also have two Aussies at Mosul and one at Basra War Cemeteries.

I believe one was being used as a soccer ground and the other near/completely destroyed.

    Further info anyone?

After a fair bit of reading, I know now I should say Audaxes instead of Hinds. Throw some Gladiators in there as well plus there were some Hurris and Blenheims (including some fighter Blenheims)...even several Wimpys.
