I would be interested, especially if we can link types with their use during the war.
United Kingdom Hi Me Hearties!
Have just opened one of my books "Shipping Wonders of the World" by Clarence Winchester, no date so I therefore believe it to be first edition early 1930's.
Apart from many items of interest is a series of 40 different typs of Mercantmen.
Herewith a sample, if of any interest I will post others over a period.
Cheers
Keith

United Kingdom Hi Hugh,
I can tell by your flags that you will be interested.
However their wartime association I can't help.
The book is early 1930 so no reference to WWII activity.
However they seemed to be very detailed line drawings, that I thought someone would be interested.
Each drawing of course has to be scanned, then brought to an acceptable size, so it needs a fair ammount of time.
That said the first one is now done, so if I carry these sizes over the time will now be halved.
Did you catch my "Lead up to D.Day story"
Cheers
All the best
Keith

United Kingdom I know the RNVR was called the wavey-navy because of the shape/style of their rank insignia, but was there a nickname for the RNR and their "chain" rank insignia?
