Operation Pheasant
Operation Colin part of operation Pheasant designed to liberate Brabant area of Holland, i.e. Vught, sHertogenbosch, St Michielsgestel Schijndel etc.
The attached is film taken in October 1944 in St Michielsgestel the day after liberation. So in effect what you are watching is operation Pheasant in action. Film depicts elements of 51st Highland Division moving through the town.

Sorry typo. Pheasant was to liberate middle and weastern Brabant area of Holland and began 20th October. Operation colin was 23 October with the advance to Schijndel, and also liberated Vught on 26th/27th. The advance on Schijndel began from St Michielsgestel. Operation Colin was a part of operation Pheasant. 51st HD was fighting under command of 1st Canadian army. 5th Camerons lost 71 casualties (8 officers & 63 other ranks) on 23rd attack on Schijndel.
attached commemorative medal given to my Father in 2004 for the 60th anniversary. One side shows a pheasant the other a map of the areas.
