    Hi.
I wonder how many will find the uploads from the St.Johns Handbook of 1917 as fascinating as I found them, because of the prices !
    Cheers

    Low priced indeed.

My mother used to tell me that when she was a child circa 1925, that a loaf of bread was a 11/2d. or one and a half pence.

    Hi Geoff,
I can remember my first packet of cigarettes being from a slot machine.
5 Woodbines with 5 matches attached for 2 old penniesand turn the handle..

That really makes me feel old !!!!!

    Hi Annie,

I am so pleased that you think anything of mine is worth pinching,
    Do it again, anytime.

    Cheers

So if you volunteered you had to buy your own uniform and equipment?

And if you were promoted you new uniform was even more!
