Thread: 96th Anniversary

Did you know that today is the 96th anniversary of the Warbird? Yes, there was balloon combat in the 19th century but it was on February 13th, 1913 at the second British Aero Show in London, that Vickers, Sons & Maxim exhibited the first aircraft designed to carry a gun (a 37mm Maxim cannon.) The Experimental Fighting Biplane No.1 (E.F.B.1) was Britain and the world's first true warbird.
