United Kingdom Or you could have this thread open in one window and the thread in which you are posting in another. That way you can refer to it if needed![]()
Australia Oh my god, another nervous breakdown for me. I have enough problems handling one screen, let alone two !!! Don't forget I am an Aussie.

United Kingdom There are two ways of posting a reply to a previous post. It is worth using the appropriate one to make it easier for other members to read the thread.
To posts a normal reply to the previous message, scroll to the bottom of the page and type in your message into the box and then click Post Quick Reply.
The Reply (marked number 1 below) should only be used if you want to quote a previous post, and usually only if your message does not pertain to the last message in the thread.

United Kingdom Also known as Smilies.
They are a handy addition to ones posts, but don't go mad. Yes, a picture maybe worth a 1000 words but as a discursive forum, we really should make the effort to say things explicitly and clearly.
One problem with smilies is that not everyone will understand each and everyone, and may actually cause more confusion than clarification.

United Kingdom Sometimes you want to reply to more than one message in yor post. Instead of replying to each messgae in a seperate post, try multi-quoting.
This facility allows you to choose all the messages you wish to quote, and then reply to them all in one post.
All you need to do is click the following button under each of the posts you want to post. Then, in the final message you are quoting click on the Reply button.
The message box will have all the marked messages in [quote] and [./quote] (without the full stop which I had to add to illustrate this tutorial)
Write your messages in between each section of the text encapsulated by the above [quote] and [./quote]

United Kingdom Thought I was missing what was newly posted but I've just found the 'New Posts' button.
