    Story about a pine tree damaged by storm. The tree had been grown by a cone sent home by a digger in Gallipoli after the battle at Lone pine

    What a shame, I hope they can save it. I wonder if they have harvested more seeds from it to keep the strain going.

    They certainly have, DL. IIRC, the pine tree at Lone Pine, Gallipoli, has been grown from a seed of the Australian tree as the original tree died.
