In America they have "Veterans Day" which is November 11th. This is a holiday for government employees but not for the general public. Unfortunately in the U.K. they have no national holiday to recognise veterans sacrifices.
Australia Always, DL, as it's the anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. National holiday too.

Australia We recognise Nov 11 as Rememberance Day and there are services at 11am of course. Not a national holiday though.
