WAAFs

Hey guys (sorry! this is like my sixth thread. Hope you ain't getting annoyed),

Anyways, I'm just curious about WAAFs for bit and here's my questions;

*Were there any WAAFs in England during WW2 from different countries (i.e. New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Jamaica, etc, etc..)?

*Would it have been a punishable offence for an aircrew Flight Sergeant to be with a WAAF Section Officer, or would it have been allowed to slide?

*Were there actually WAAFs who were known to "jinx" any crew member who dated her?

Yes there were women from other countries who served in the WAAFs though if they enlistedin the country of their origin (Australia, Canada, NZ) then they would have joined their on women's air force branch - Royal Canadian Air Force Women's Division, Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) or New Zealand Women's Auxiliary Air Force NZWAAF. There was also a women's section of the Indian Air Force.

But women came from all over, and there were a number from the West Indies.

As to fratinisatin between the ranks and superiors, officially a no-no I think, if they were based together. But I don't know exactly.

If there were "jinxed" WAAFs I've never come across them being referenced, and I doubt anyone will. Not the done thing to name names in these circumstance, even if crews thought someone was bringing them "bad luck"

So, maybe it was just coincidence that an airman who was with a certain WAAF got killed over Germany?

According to my Sister-in Law who was in the W.A.A.F. herself there certainly was a lot of "Fraternisation". Wherever you go Boys will be Boys and Girls will be Girls.
