After handing over 2 signed aviation prints at christmas, one of which had an RAF Russian hurricane pilot, one of only 38 in the war, i felt the need for a treat.

This arrived yesterday:

Quote:
'Testing Conditions' by Mark Postlethwaite GAvA - A tribute to all who worked at the Castle Bromwich Aircraft Factory and published in 1993 by the former Ramrod Publications.

There really are some amazing signatures on this unique print (No 71/100) and include not only CBAF Test Pilot ALEX HENSHAW MBE, but also the following Battle of Britain pilots: -

Gerry Edge DFC, Ken Wilkinson, Denis Nicholls, Richard Jones, George Unwin DFM, Iain Hutchinson DFM, William Walker, Bunny Currant DSO DFC, Buck Casson DFC AFC & Tony Pickering.

The following post Battle of Britain Spitfire pilots have also signed: Tadek Dzidzic (Polish), Martyn Steynor (ATA), Tony Minchin, Bob Pugh, Ron Rayner DFC & Duncan Spruce.

Finally the print (A2 size) is signed by Dr Gordon Mitchell, son of the Spitfire's designer, RJ Mitchell.

Well done Kitty.

You will have to get a bigger house for the collection!

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

I have some more photos to add here soon.

I got some great Christmas pressies.

Lots of WW1 POST CARDS, and some Scottish ones from 1900's-1920's.

Two R.E ash trays, and R.E Trench Art Stamp Box, WW2 R.E Lighter, A WW1 R.E Cig Case.

A Clydebank Jug, with the Clydebank Crest.

Oh and a R.E Thimble.

I need to buy a big display case now.

You can probably guess that I've been keeping an eye on you so that your 100th post garners the congratulations it deserves!
