| The Sinking of SS Tembien - Allied POW's
SS TEMBIEN (27th February 1942) Sunk by Upholder whilst en-route Tripoli to Italy. 468 Allied P.O.W. aboard of which 390 died. 68 Italians and 10 Germans were also lost. Survivors were picked up by Destroyer Strale and taken back to Tripoli. This was the second such loss of Allied POW's in the Mediterranean in 1942.
