I've tried to identify the ships in the row of photos on the bottom of this website.

In the one tagged as "Escort Ships", the upper, background, vessel is an RN Southampton class (sometimes known as Town class) cruiser; the one in the foreground is a Fiji class cruiser.

In the picture tagged "Battleship", I believe this is either the USS Washington or her sister USS North Carolina - both of which served in the Pacific not the Med.

A little more info from "The Spitfire" site.

If these two vessels served in the Pacific then they cannot be the pictured "Battleship."

I know little of Naval goings on but think that the picture is of H.M.S. Renown that was on Operation Bowery.

HMS Renown, British battlecruiser, WW2

Maybe not all the pictures are from the Med. Its not the Renown in the picture; there are too many dissimilarities. The seaplane crane on the extreme stern is typically USN, no British warship had such a feature.

AR, off the top of my head, do you reckon that Town class is Edinburgh?
