You're Top Poster: #1   | Bomber's Moon (song) This song was written bt Mike Harding (the comedien) in tribute to his father Flt Sgt Louis Arthur Harding, navigator in 9 Squadron. Killed on the night of the 24th September 1944, when his Lancaster LL901 'WS-V' was lost over Holland. YouTube - Bomber's Moon Bombers Moon T/O 19.02 from Bardney tasked to attack the airfield at Handorf. Cause of loss not established. Crashed 00 15, approxiamately 1km W of the Laren to Holten road in the Dutch Province of Gelderland, and on the E side of Deventer. The aircraft was carrying a Tallboy F/O C B Scott + Sgt J E Simkin + F/Sgt L A Harding + F/Sgt L W Langley PoW (confined in Hospital due injuries) Sgt M E Hayward + Sgt F A Saunders + Sgt L J Hambly + There is a picture of Hambly here (though I don't know if the crew picture is of the above): The Wartime Memories Project - RAF Bardney
