You're Top Poster: #10 | Looks like lots and lots of SMLEs. The Afghans have acquired a lot of weaponry over the years. Maybe they are concerned about how to dispose of it in an eco-friendly way. Ok maybe not.....  There are some bigger peices of kit as well. The Shuttleworth Collection rescued their Hawker Hind from Afghanistan in the 70's. And recently, the remains of a 1930's Italian Meridionali biplane were discovered and retrieved. Several Anson remains are also there. and any number of Migs and Mils. And allegedly also a Renault FT17 tank that originally dated from WW1, though it would have been re-engined and refurbished in the 30's. |
