Interesting article, I would have thought that since it was the Russians who captured Berlin then if it had been taken, it would have ended up somewhere in Ruusia.

Just like those records attributed to Hitler's collection - bet things will be turning up for years.

I think the older generations have also finally realised that the communists aren't coming back into power and so they aren't going get shot for looting, or hiding Nazi memorabilia. Coupled with the economics you pointed out I think we will see a fair bit popping up, and probably, the inevitable rise in fakes.

this is it nobody knows exactly what was looted from Germany at the end of the war and where it went.

I have an example of looted material, its a manual of Naval Navigation dated 1933, it is important because it bears the stamp of a nazi library,

Unless one can buy these things through reputable dealers - or one is an expert - a lot of people using auction sites are going to be stung.

Even buying objects sourced from the west make me wary.

Your manual sounds interesting - is it training one or one that contained tides etc?

Its the standard Kriegsmarine training manual. I could well imagine copies being found on the Bismark or Tirpitz
