How do the site statistics add up?

On-line at the moment 27 guests and 1 member (me).

War in Europe 1
Prisoners of War 1
Other Conflicts 13
Books & Film 1
News Articles 1
Barracks 8

TOTAL TO ME 25

Where at the other 3?

How do non-members get into the Barracks?

The "Other Conflicts" is drawing a crowd - active service people??

Just me, a numbers guy:

The guests are mostly other search engines reading the threads and posts.

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

Interesting, a "machine guest", never heard of that before. So, they have full access?

Guests and Bots (e.g. Yahoo! Slurp Spider) can read most forums. The Bots are automated systems sent out by the various search engines like google and yahoo so that they can then add our threads to their search results. We also actively encourgae guests to read our posts as they could be potential members, and may find something of interest that they wish to reply to.

We also have had a number of people join after they did a search for a particular subject and came across one of our posts after it had been logged by one the Bots

However, guests and bots cannot access member's profiles, carry out an active search using the forum's search facility, or post, without first registering.
