amateur researcher

Hello all,
Just to introduce myself firstly.

My names Steve and as the title says I'm an amateur researcher.
My main interest surrounds WW2 through to present day as I'm trying to get to the bottom of a few family history mysteries.

I'm presently researching the period around 1940 when the Germans attacked the west in May 1940 through to the Dunkirk evacuation.

My Great Uncle survived the evacuation only to die in November the same year.

If I can help you and vice versa then drop me a line at
shinky2525@aol.com

Thanks

Watcha Steve. Welcome to the forum. Why Shinky? Maybe whack up a few more details and as the membership grows I am sure someone will come up with something useful for you.

Would have a guess at the last name being Shinkfield.

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)
