You're Top Poster: #107   |  Hi y'all Greetings from 'sunny' Bradford! Maybe not.  Ok, new guy most humbly seeks acceptance of peers - never betters.  Father was WWII Bomber Command AG (Rear) in various aircraft types. One uncle served in all 3 main services, was captured by and escaped from Japanese in Singapore 1942 + captured by and escaped from Germans during Market Garden. Another two uncles served in Cyprus (EOKA period) with 1 DWR. I served in Aden (1966) with 1 York & Lancs Reg't + N Ireland (1969) with 1 PWO Reg't. Also, 2 years with 4 Para (TA) until slightly 'bent' when chute failed to deploy correctly - the infernal thing.  Aside:- All male members, and many female members, of my family have served in HM Forces for more than 250 years. Am I qualified to be a member here?  |
