Some old photos of mine - WWII aviation

Just got some idle moments and found an old CD with a few pics of mine taken over the years. Might even dig some prints out and scan them. First up, some pics from the RAAF Museum, Point Cook.

1. I don't think the Spit is on display there anymore. It's a "Mk IX" but I believe had a bit of Mk V in her as well. Static display only. One of the highlights of my visit washelping push her out of the hangar (this is all back in 2000).

2. The Walrus is now complete and stunning.

3. The museum's airworthy Australian-built Mustang.

4. CAC Wirraway with friends.

Judy Pay's Old Aeroplane Company of Tyabb, Victoria, had the Royal Australian Navy Historic Flight's previously airworthy Firefly in their main hangar. I think it is now back at the Navy's museum.

To get an idea of the size of a Firefly, that's an upside down Tiger Moth fuse next to it!

Judy Pay is the owner of the P-40F that did engine runs recently. The second pic if the Kittyhawk as just a fuselage.

Some pics from Flying Legends at Duxford in 1999. By the looks of these, I need to dig them out and scan them again.

The first Spit pic is not a great shot but check out the French-based Lysander climbing out in the background!

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

Can you remember the serial number? With that could soon find out it's wartime history.
