Conscientious objectors produce ambivelant feelings amongst the WW2 fraternity, and some of us have been in debates about whether they are worthy of the same "praise" or "considerations" as those veterans who fought with gun in hand.

However, there is no disputing one conscientious objector who refused to become an armed soldier, and yet won the Medal of Honor - Desmond Doss Senior:
