Wounded -any recognition?

I am aware that during the Great War the (British) Army soldiers wounded in action were 'awarded' wound stripes; these were sewn on to their uniform.

Did anything similar happen during WW2?

Thanks in anticipation,

Roxy

wound stripes

Same thing, my Father had 2 stripes on the fore-arm of his tunic. Attached Pic. Even though he was actually wounded 3 times.

Thanks. One of my mates has just discovered that her grandfather (who recently died) was wounded - a number of times, I am lead to believe - whilst with the A&SH during the war. I hope to have some details that I can pass to the Forum for some advice soon.
