A Survey of Nazi and Pro-Nazi Groups in Switzerland: 1930-1945

A great survey of Switzerland's Nazi movements

Quote:
The purpose of this report is to show the influence that the pro-Nazi, fascistic, and super-patriotic associations had on the government and people of Switzerland. These groups thoroughly saturated every one of the countrys twenty-one cantons and the core of Swiss society -- from the working classes to the ruling elite.

The various organizations will be introduced, their leaders, and objectives. Any ties with, or proclivities towards, Germany or Fascist Italy, will be mentioned. By and large this study will concern itself with the principal field of action taken by these groups, the polemics of their publications: newspapers, magazines, books and pamphlets. Examples of these writings will be provided in this text. Further appropriate information follows in a variety of appended material, including photographs of Swiss leaders, Swiss Nazi events and Swiss antisemitic caricatures. The most important one, however, contains some unpublished documents from the Swiss Federal Archives regarding the Federal Councils attitude to Jewish Swiss citizens and Jewish refugees. This report then closes with a series of conclusions.

Swiss neutrality IMHO made a mockery of the word.

My Avatar is the memorial to the 22 Commonwealth Coastwatchers at the Temakin Cemetery on Betio (Tarawa Atoll) who were beheaded by the Japanese on 15th October 1942. http://www.dva.gov.au/media/publicat...mem_beito.html

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)
