Not someone I'd heard of, so cheers Andy. It is amazing how much history is still unknown by the wider public.

I wonder whether he ever talked about his service. It's a pity a (auto)biography wasn't written whilst he was alive - it would have been fascinating to read about his experiences, how he was initially treated, etc

Kyt, I first learned of Len Waters when I saw a piece on him back in the early '90s. The only thing that sticks in my head about it is that he was standing watching Col Pay's, I think, P-40E take off from a dirt strip. It might have been on Australian Story but more likely on a nightly current affiars show so the transcript might be a bit harder to turn up.

Will have a go though.
