Post workers resume strike action

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7032582.stm

OK, part of me supported the demands of workers for better pay and conditions, but this is bloody ridiculas. By the time they sort out the backlog, it'll be over a week without post. That's lost them all my sympathy - no consideration of the impact it has on other workers.

My Avatar is the memorial to the 22 Commonwealth Coastwatchers at the Temakin Cemetery on Betio (Tarawa Atoll) who were beheaded by the Japanese on 15th October 1942. http://www.dva.gov.au/media/publicat...mem_beito.html

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

Like he did any work before....

I am waiting for some serious memory cards to arrive, my mums main christmas present and a birthday present. And because this lot can't do anything except winge and actually take their bosses to court then we all suffer.

They hadn't better lose a damned thing i am waiting for.

Mind you since the actions began several months ago we have been going for days without mail anyway.

The first paragraph of a letter to The Times made me laugh:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/com...cle2624697.ece

Quote:
Sir, The full page advertisement placed by the postal workers’ union, the CWU, in The Times (Oct 9) asks the public to write to MPs and to Allan Leighton and Adam Crozier to let them know of our support for local postal workers. What it fails to tell us, however, is how the letters of support are going to get there.
Quite a valid point.
