I've got pics somewhere of Matt Denning's masterpiece when I saw her in Toowoomba in 2001 in a shed next to the Zuccolli collection (home to Australia's other airworthy Boomerang). This was before her first flight and I can still remember being in awe at standing next to an aircraft I'd been reading about for so long. I met Matt briefly back in Brisbane during my stint in the Beaufort workshop. Unassuming type of guy. I think he still flies the aircraft for Temora regularly.
There are a couple of other Boomerang projects that we'll see fly in the not too distant future. No idea what the one in the US is up to these days.
Although I've never seen one fly in the flesh, I always thought the awesome whine was the air over the gunports.
