Hi Guys,

Thanks for the thread. I can almost see my Dad getting embarrassed and wondering what all the fuss is about; but he'd certainly appreciate it.

I've a swathe of Meteor shots, but at the moment I'm holding them in reserve for my current project. However, here's one to show one of the operational 'challenges' that were faced in Korea. Not quite as exciting as air-to-air, but breathtaking in a different way.

Cheers

Owen

You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

Hi again,

Yes Temora sure is a great place. (...and only a short flight from home) It is a real credit to EVERYONE involved there at all levels. It oozes genuine enthusiasm and passion.

The sound of the Meteor is distinctive as the airflow hums past the gun-ports. Understandably, it's a favourite for me.

I was also fortunate to help out recently in captioning some images for their latest display; appropriately for this thread it is titled "The RAAF in Korea".

I might post a Temora gallery later if you're interested.

Cheers

Owen

We're always interesed - so post away. Us mere mortals who don't get a chance to get up close to these beauties can merely drool over the photos.
