| I knew a "European" guy in the 60's whose father told him that the reason the Jews were all malnourished (in camp photos) is because they all went on a hunger strike because they were not allowed to fight in the German army against the allies. The guards provided the best food but they preferred to starve.
This guy believed his father's version and would not hear of anything to the contrary.
