Looks like lots of mops, buckets and hot soapy water required!! Isn't it sad when these monuments are left to the ravages of time? And isn't it wonderful that there are many volunteers up and down the country trying to ensure that it doesn't happen?

Incidentally does anyone know why all early postcards were watermarked or stamped with the French "Carte de Poste"? I know it is the translation but were they a French idea or was the company who printed them located in France?
