| I have a book which dates from 1840 - so you can imagine its not about aircraft - and one of the previous owners signed his name and put "carpenter" below his name.
Given that, in 1840, the book cost 12/5, it was a lot of money to pay for a book. so he must have saved up for it and it was a very important book to him.
