| I think it was when the little boats went to rescue the soldiers at Dunkirk !! ..... so many regular ordinary men .... mostly fishermen .... willingly putting themselves in a dreadful dangerous position !
And for a personal one ... my Granddad came home from the Boer War ... went to WW1 .... his wife died while he was in the trenches .... and he came home ... and he was expected to carry on as if nothing had happened !!
now that's a hero in my eyes !! |
