A historic fight plane skidded off the runway at Berlin-Schoenefeld airport on Tuesday, shortly after the official opening of the annual Berlin air show.
According to local officials, the Messerschmidt Me 109 came off the tarmac shortly after landing.
Amateur video showed the plane's wing scraping the tarmac before the plane eventually came to a halt, surrounded by smoke.
The pilot managed to get out of the plane unaided and was not injured.
The cause of the crash is still unclear.
The Me 109 is a one-seated German propeller aircraft that was used by the German Air force in the 1930s and '40s.
