| The Japanese military would have been happy to see 10,000.000 of their own people die rather than surrender.
They slaughtered millions under the guise of their co prosperity sphere, so the atomic bombs actually gave them a reprieve from total devastation which would have been the outcome from continual firebombing and starvation.
