How I know?
Found many parts and ammunition of the Lancaster JN-D who crashed there on the 28th of may 1944 (02.30 am). Killing 3 of the crewmembers.
It was shot down by German Nachtjagd from the airflied of Gilze-Rijen. Its objective was railroad emplacements near Aachen.
I have pictures of one of the survivors who visited the site in 1979.
Also pictures taken the same day of the crash, and the report of a eyewitness.
Its also discribed in the book Vijf Jaar Luchtfront, written by Wout van den Hout (the eyewitniss).

I read the report about the dambuster, will get back on that subject later.
Many thanks!

Thnx,
Nick
