Hi i am new to all this and i am wondering if anyone can help me.
I am trying to find out some info on my grandfather.

    Did he serve in India/Burma?

I think RC is a reinforcement camp/centre. Have seen BBRC with reference to India/Burma.

He was in Africa, India and he parachuted into japan.
Thanks for the info. When you say reinforcement camp/centre what do you mean by that?

My understanding is it's like a 'halfway house' before posting to a front-line unit. Probably way off base there.

    British Base Reinforcement Camp

There were a few doted around India, and as Andy says they were "halfway houses". Troops shipped from Britain were first sent to one of these camps before being assigned to a particular unit in the 14th Army/SEAC. Whilst there, trrops would be given extra training and acclimitisation to the conditions in the East. Towards the end of the war, and after, troops would be sent there before they were sent home for demobilisation.
