    So China has been caught out faking parts of the opening ceremony, and have to admit was unsure about those giant footprints, but oh well. They may as well have just announced the special effects from the start, then we'd be more impressed.

    I have managed to get over pensionable age without ever watching an opening ceremony!

    I also have never seen Prince Charles & Di's wedding - thank heavens.
